ACT Lawrence is a Latina-led non-profit Community Development Corporation (CDC)
that empowers people to achieve their goals
and dreams by providing opportunities for
financial capability, community engagement & personal growth.
We work to achieve social and economic justice by empowering low to moderate-income populations in Lawrence, Massachusetts.
Through shared values of inclusiveness and collaboration, we desire to reclaim a voice for Lawrence and advocate self-determination for its residents through community development initiatives such as affordable housing, financial coaching, and youth leadership programs.
MEET OUR TEAM
Ms. Luna holds a Masters in Public Policy from Tufts University. With 25+ years focusing on low-income and diverse groups, Ms. Luna oversees all programs of the organization.
Ms. Hernandez manages program staff, oversees the housing counseling team and supports the executive director.
Ms. Suero supports program staff with community wide events outreach, planning and activities.
Mr. Recio-Martinez supports clients to reach their home ownership and financial goals including homebuyer education, rental and credit counseling.
Lead Housing Counselor
Ms. Guava supports clients to reach their home ownership and financial goals including homebuyer education, rental and credit counseling.
Ms. Sanchez supports clients with registrations, schedules workshops and manages data collection.

Our 10-hr workshops help homebuyers create a roadmap to buy a house. We have both a live, Spanish workshop ($50), and an online English or Spanish workshop via FRAMEWORK ($100). Free counseling is available by appointment.
Free homebuyer counseling that helps clients develop an action plan to increase savings, decrease expenses and improve credit score along with other planning and educational tools to achieve home ownership.

Landlord/Tenant Relationship Workshop
This is a two-hour workshop to provide overview of best practices and legal rights and responsibilities of the tenants and landlords. Workshops are led by real estate attorneys with expertise on many topics such as: obtaining an occupancy permit, types of tenancy, how to manage rent deposits, manage landlord/tenant communications and many others.
Do you have financial goals but trouble sticking with your plan? If so, participate in this FREE Financial Coaching. Our new Credit Builder program helps you improve your credit score.
ACT Lawrence helps families become financially stable by use of financial coaching, budget planning, and goal setting. This program consists of workshops and coaching sessions to help you achieve financial goals and dreams!
Provides free counseling along with other resources to help homeowners avoid foreclosure. The counseling supports clients in creating a crisis budget and complete the required documents to apply for a loan modification, forbearance plan or other foreclosure prevention methods.
